Before their backyard wedding, Ben and Alexis met me for an engagement session in a quiet wildflower field just outside of Beaverton, Oregon. It was one of those golden, late-summer evenings where everything slows down—and we leaned into that.
They brought a picnic basket, a bottle of wine, and a blanket to spread out in the tall grass. It made the whole session feel less like a shoot and more like a date night—warm, unrushed, and fully present. They poured glasses, kicked off their shoes, and just were—talking, laughing, leaning into each other as the light shifted across the field.
I photographed their session on both 35mm film and digital. Film gave us those glowing, grainy frames that feel like memories already lived. Digital helped us catch the quick moments in between—the mid-laugh looks, the messy hair, the sun flaring just right behind them.
Sessions like this are why I do what I do. As an Oregon engagement photographer, I’m drawn to stories that unfold naturally, with a little beauty and a lot of heart. Whether it’s a wildflower field in Beaverton or a picnic by the coast, I want your photos to feel like you—soft, sincere, and a little bit magic.
